How do you know your ink line is not sealed perfectly or loosed somewhere?

Most of time you need to change the following parts if these parts already used over 3 years because there parts can cause leaking possibility. Ink line leaking is the most annoying issue and sometime it will cost you huge time and money to eliminate this simple issue.

How do you know your ink line is not sealed perfectly?

Check the printhead surface to see if there is leaking in ink line

One phenomenon is that the ink is dropping down from the printhead surface. before you turn on your printer, watch out your printhead surface and check the surface if there is ink dropping down after the whole day you closed all your ink line. If there is ink dropping down, it will prove your ink line is not sealed perfectly.

Another phenomenon is that your set up for negative air pressure to a value like -3.5, Some ink line is go back to the surface is too faster than other ink line. Some ink line is still keep ink dropping down but other color ink line is good for this negative air pressure value like -3.5, this is obvious evidence ink line dropping down is loosed somewhere. This situation, you can not set up your ink line perfectly because there is no any value to balance all color ink line. You have to fix the ink line sealed perfectly and then you can print otherwise you will fail to print at the middle prinitng and it will cost you too much time and media of course wasting too much money.

All industrial standard printer works with the same way for ink line. Ink Pump will pump ink from ink bag or ink bottle to ink reservoir and then go to damper and then go to Konica KM1024 Printhead.

The most possibility for ink line leaking is poor quality or too old connectors between parts. From negative air pressure reservoir to ink reservoir to ink damper to Konica KM1024 Printhead. For single ink port, there is one ink tubing from printhead and it is about 5″~10″/13~26cm length tubing. This tubing is for suck out air bubble and let ink fill in inside not let air go inside. So soft black tubing is best option for this head tubing. also check the connector at this tubing end to see if it was leaking.

Then check connectors with ink damper. Some old ink damper with connectors and not good sealed perfectly. Lavaink new ink damper does not have connectors at all and tubing was connected to the ink damper directly. If there is still leaking, you can check the o ring for negative air pressure reservoir and ink reservoir and all o rings for all connectors inside. That’s why you have to buy the best quality connectors and best quality tubing to save big money at maintaining ink line otherwise poor connectors and tubing will cost you huge time and money.

Check all connectors to make sure all connectors are sealed perfectly.

After you sealed ink line perfectly, and all ink lines with a certain negative air pressure will go back to the Konica KM512 Printhead surface even perfectly.

Please note: keep ink line sealed perfectly is the most most key for all printers and so it’s the most most important for you to install Konica KM512 Printhead also.
